As far as I can tell, there is no anime series for MeruPuri. It is only a manga. I could not even find any announcements that anyone decided to make it into an anime. You can watch the scanlations on youtube though.

it influences people from all places in society. It can be anyone. I know perky straight A students who are into Anime, I know know students who don't even care about school who who are into Anime. Anime can be split up into many categories. There's shoujo there's sport, theirs romance, their slick of life, their is mech, their is adventure. No matter who you are or what type of person you are. There are always certain shows that you like while their are some that you'd never even be caught watching. Does it have to be any different with anime.
I think it's more a matter of opinion but if you look at what people call "cartoons" and what people call "anime" then I would consider anime to be more Japanese than cartoons. Usually though, if it's stupid I consider it to be a cartoon.
