The main characters are India Opal and Winn-Dixie, but there are many other important people, too.
when Opal asks her dad about her mother and he dad tells her 10 things about her mom for each year she been alive. Because of Winn Dixie Opal knows more and more about her mother and Opal and her dad gets closer and Opal's dad is comfortable about telling opal about her mother and how she left them. Opal realizes that when her dad tells her about her mom she acts like her mom is there with her.
The solution is Opal asks her dad if she can keep Winn-Dixie because he is a homeless dog and her dad had to think about it and he said yes.
Opal's dad works at a Church as a Preacher.
The conflict in the story is that Opal is having a party at Gloria Dump's house and it starts to rain and thunder. Since Winn Dixie is afraid of thunder he gets scared and runs away. Opal and her dad become closer looking for Winn Dixie.One conflict is Opal coping with her mother leaving.Another is when Opal thinks Winn-Dixie has ran away.benbecause winn dixie run away in opal´s party in a thunder storm
When Winn-Dixie and Opal go to Gloria Dump's party, Winn Dixie is scared by the thunder and runs away because he has a pathological fear. Opal and her dad spend hours looking for him, and opal confronts him on how he didn't bother looking for her mum, they go back to Gloria's and Opal finds out that Winn-Dixie was at the house the whole time she was looking for him. Then they all sit down and sing a song. :)
A foreshadow in because of Winn-Dixie is when Opal got Winn Dixie she was afraid that she had to give him back to the person that owns him. Another one, is when Mrs. Franny wanted to own a library she thought that her dad would say no.
