The original "Canton Bearing Plant" located across from the Timken Headquarters Building (Between Harrison Street and Dueber Avenue) was closed. The plant was demolished in order to make room for a larger steel lay-down yard for Timken Harrison Steel Plant. However, during that closure processes, Timken laid off 700, then nearly 1400 employees stating a false "workforce reduction due to the economy" excuse that was later refuted by Timken Company CEO Jim Griffith who, after the mass layoff, announce Timken had the most profitable year on record.

Plants that fix CO2 into organic acids at night when the stomata are open and carry out the Calvin cycle during the day when the stomata are closed are called?

Plants that fix CO2 into organic acids at night when the stomata are open and carry out the Calvin cycle during the day when the stomata are closed are called CAM (Crassulacean Acid Metabolism) plants. CAM plants have adapted their carbon fixation process to avoid water loss during the day by keeping stomata closed, and perform photosynthesis during the night when conditions are cooler and less water loss occurs.
