Federalism is a system of government where power is divided between a central authority and regional or local governments. This concept of division of power can be related to ideas about local church government, where decision-making authority is often decentralized to individual churches or congregations. Just as federalism allows regional governments to have a degree of autonomy, local church government allows individual churches to have autonomy in their governance and decision-making processes.
