Which area is favorable for farming in the US?

It depends on what you grow. The midwestern states, from Ohio through the central and northern plains states are favorable for growing grains such as corn and (especially in the western portion of this area) wheat, as well as soybeans. Upstate New York, Michigan and Washington state have favorable conditions for growing apples, cherries and other tree fruits. The Southern states have favorable conditions for growing crops such as cotton, peanuts, tomatoes, peaches, pecans, various vegetable crops, and in Central and southern Florida and South Texas, citrus crops such as oranges and grapefruit. Idaho is famous for it's potatoes. California, with it's extensive irrigation of desert areas, and, similarly, Arizona, have had tremendous success growing a wide variety of grain, fruit, vegetable and nut crops such as almonds, nectarines, plums, peaches, citrus, tomatoes, lettuce and spinach. The mid Atlanyic states such as Virginia and Maryland are known for tobacco crops. Boggy areas of Wisconsin and New Jersey are the home of cranberry farms. Finally, Hawaii provides favorable soil and climate conditions for tropical crops including pineapple and macadamia nuts. The US is blessed with bountiful agricultural lands throughout the vast majority of it's territory.
