Mountains are landforms that rise prominently above their surroundings, typically with steep slopes and high elevations. They are formed by tectonic movements and can have diverse ecosystems. Basins are low-lying areas that are surrounded by higher land, often having a bowl-like shape. They can be formed by geological processes such as erosion and can collect water to form lakes or rivers.
