Champlain was a great explorer of the time as he accomplished many for the country of France. Although many argue that he was a perfect man, he worsened the relationship between the Iroquoian and did nothing after establishing the settlement of New France. He began avoidable wars as Canada wouldn't been a peacefuller country.

Samuel de Champlain's weaknesses included his limited formal education and his sometimes rash decision-making, which could lead to conflicts with indigenous peoples or his European rivals. Additionally, his reliance on financial support from the French monarchy made him somewhat vulnerable to political fluctuations and changes in royal favor.
