India does not seem to have any 'classical' rift vallies however there are some ancient 'Graben' (another name for these) that may be present within the geology:-
Godavari Graben
a possible Pleistocene/Holocene graben along Pondicherry in the northeast and Cumbum Valley
and the The Narmada river valley is documented as being a rift valley but the available documentation to support this is not conclusive.

Rift valleys are found at divergent plate boundaries, where tectonic plates move away from each other. Examples include the East African Rift Valley and the Rio Grande rift in North America.
A rift valley is a linear lowland between highlands or mountain ranges created by the action of a geologic fault or rift zone. It often forms where tectonic plates are moving apart, leading to the stretching and thinning of the Earth's crust, resulting in a depressed landscape. Rift valleys can be found on land or beneath the ocean.
There are several types of valleys found around the world, including U-shaped valleys carved by glaciers, V-shaped valleys formed by rivers, hanging valleys created by erosion, and rift valleys resulting from tectonic activity. Each type of valley is characterized by its unique geological process of formation and can be found in various landscapes globally.
Rift zones form at locations where the Earth's tectonic plates are moving away from each other. This movement creates fractures in the Earth's crust, allowing magma to rise to the surface and form new crust. Rift zones are commonly found along mid-ocean ridges and continental rift valleys.
There are several types of valleys, including V-shaped valleys formed by erosion from rivers, U-shaped valleys carved by glaciers, rift valleys formed by tectonic activity, and hanging valleys created when smaller tributary valleys flow into larger main valleys.
