Longest 7" single ever recorded? Well... in 1987, Columbia Records released Bruce Springsteen's "Fire" as a 7" single from the 5-LP box set "Live/1975-85" and its Beside was "Incident on 57th Street". Get this - "Incident" ran at 10:03, taking up the entire Beside, and yes, it is mastered at 45 rpm. Must have been a pain in the arse for Columbia to cut a Beside of that length on a 7"er at 45 RPM and to have it play back with no problem!
