Mendeleev's discovery about elements were so revolutionary because he left gaps for undiscovered elements. He predicted the elements properties to get the empty spaces that would later be proven true (the prediction of the other undiscovered elements) in 1875 by a scientist.

Why is the mendeleevs table called the periodic table?

Because the properties of the elements change in a periodic fashion. In the early versions, when fewer elements were known, the chemically similar elements were thought to occur every eight positions.

How can you tell if an element is man-made or synthetic?

Man-made elements are created by humans through nuclear reactions, while synthetic elements are created in a laboratory by combining natural elements. The presence of man-made elements on Earth is a result of nuclear testing or accidents. Synthetic elements are not found naturally on Earth and must be produced in a controlled environment.

What turn of the century woman scientist researched radiation which led to the development of the X-ray?

Marie and Pierre Curie indeed studied radiation, however the DISCOVERY of the x-ray was made by and attributed to Ernest Rutherford. The Curie's work did not necessarily contribute to the discovery, although their work was revolutionary.

What changes were made to the periodic table after Mendeleevs discovery?

it has been revised. also it is not organized anymore by atomic weight... it is organized by atomic number. Glenn Seaborg discovered the transuranic elements, from 94 to 102. one of the biggest changes was the whole new family of the noble gases.firstly the fundamental basis of classification changed from Atomic Mass to atomic number secondly left up gaps were filled up

How did chemist change mendeleevs perioic table in the early 1900s?

Chemists in the early 1900s made changes to Mendeleev's periodic table by rearranging elements based on their atomic number instead of atomic mass, leading to the development of the modern periodic table. This change accurately emphasized the relationship between an element's properties and its atomic number, rather than its atomic mass, and helped to better organize the elements.

How was the periodic table discovered or made?

It all started with the discovery of individual elements like gold, silver, copper. The discovery of the number of elements increases, therefore the scientists classified the elements on the basis of their properties in the periodic table.
