The Deccan Traps is a plateau in India. It formed from cracks or holes (called vents) in the crust of earth. So, the molten rocks called magma emerged out from the mantle on to the surface of earth through these vents. This magma then got cooled and solidified to form igneous rocks. Large volumes of magma spread over a large surface area of earth produced a high level land called plateau, extending over several hundred square kilometres.

The decan trap theory is a hypothesis in astronomy that suggests some nearby open clusters could be remnants of disrupted small satellite galaxies or star clusters that were pulled into the Milky Way due to its gravitational forces. These disrupted objects could have left behind a trail or "trap" of stars in the form of open clusters within the Milky Way. The theory aims to explain the presence of certain open clusters that exhibit similar properties and origins.
