Rosalind Franklin provided evidence of the helical structure.Watson,Crick and Wilkins were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1962.Sadly Rosalind Franklin had died from cancer in 1958,preventing her from also sharing the Nobel Prize as it cannot be awarded posthumously.

She specified the amount of water to be found in the molecule in accordance with other parts of it, data that has considerable importance in terms of the stability of the molecule. Franklin was the first to discover and formulate these facts, which in fact constituted the basis for all later attempts to build a model of the molecule.

she was a chemist who discovered the sphrcial shape of DNA and reaseaved a PHD and a BA.

add Rosalind Franklin was a member of a team investigating DMA fibres, and her part was studying the crystallography of these materials. It was her photographs of a particular molecule that was taken by another team member, and formed the basis of what we now know as the twin helix of DNA.

Unfortunately, she died before the Nobel Prize was awarded, and thus her contribution is less known.

The team was of up towards twenty people, but the Nobel prize may not be given to more than three named persons. And, as in Rosalind's case, is not awarded to dead people.
