It's called a polymer ( the single unit is a monomer) a repetitive bonding of a series of smaller molecules, a good example being a complex sugar molecule, a carbohydrate, compose of a string of smaller simple sugars (monosaccharides) to make it a polysaccharide.

H2 is the molecule of diatomic hydrogen.
Percentage composition= (mass of the element/mass of the molecule)*100 The fraction of the molecule's mass that comes from the element's mass
Sugar is a simple molecule, the most common of sugars is made up of SUCROSE. Sucrose is a combination of 2 molecules, GLUCOSE and FRUCTOSE. It is joined by a rather weak GLYCOSIDIC BOND. Butter contains many more molecules, including lipids and sugars. Lipids are joined using Hydrogen bonds. Hydrogen bonds are still quite weak, but stronger than the glycosidic bonds of the sugar. Also, as the sugar is a simpler molecule, it has less to break down.
