An amusement park ride relates to Newton's First Law of motion because an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted apon by an unbalanced force. A Rolller Coaster for example, at first it stays at rest until the engine moves it (the unbalanced force). After it is moving it stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force (the brakes).

All three of Newton's Laws of Physic can be found in amusement parks. Let us start with the first.

1. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state motion unless an external force is applied.

The perfect example of this first law in an amusement park is that of the bumper cars. If you are not familiar with bumper cars the idea is to drive around an snug area of space with about 20 or more other cars joining you, and 'bump' into the other cars. Your car can drives around without stopping. This is however until you are hit by another car. The impact of the other car on yours stops your car. Thus the first law of Newton is executed. Your bumper car will stay in motion until another car bumps into it stopping it from moving.

2. The acceleration of an object is proportional to the applied force and goes in the direction of the applied force.

When you are at an amusement on a roller coaster going down, your body is pushed in the direction gravity is falling on you at. Which is down. When you go up you are facing against gravity causing you to accelerate up slower than you went down.

3. For every action there is an equal and oppisite reaction.

Let us use a game one might play at an amusement park. How about the hammer and bell game testing your strength. When you hit the mallet against the rubber piece you are exerting a force. The same amount of force you exert on that rubber piece, that rubber piece exerts back to you. When you are on a roller coaster for another example and you are going up defying gravity...lets say the coaster is accelerating at 15mph. You are exerting your weight against gravity and therefore that same amount of weight is exerted back on you, which is why we feel heavy going straight up a roller coaster and struggle to move. If you've never tried lifting your head while going straight up in the air on a roller coaster...DON'T! However much you weigh, that force is being pulled back down on you. It hurts and depending on the speed of the coaster could be fatal!

Any design of a public amusement situation has to meed standards, and in doing so, engineers in design MUST consider all the factors, or their design would never be chosen.

So Yes, the law of physics is absolutely part of it. Always.
