The weather conditions in a city or a rural area are not climates, they are local weather patterns. This point aside, there are differences in many weather related issues in the two areas.Cities are constructed in a manner that traps heat by reflection from class buildings, the presence of heat absorbing road surfaces and the channelling of winds by tall buildings. This makes cities generally hotter in summer than adjacent rural areas. Rising heat from the city leads to an impact called a "heat island" which divers cooler winds and rain. The rural areas also benefit from the more open terrain, evaporation water from plants and soil for cooling and no contained areas to hold heat.

In the winter the buildings in cities often channel air though the streets to create an apparent cooling due to wind chill, The same structures cause snow to deposit in the wind shadows of structures to make significant drifting possible.

For air quality cities have more air pollutants emitted per area than rural areas,. This would lead to smog, ours and health impacts.

Is urban area better than rural area debate?

a rural place is that have for example plantation is a thing that you do by your own and a urban place is that have more technology like a hospital a university is is a more develop place. Rural Urban Suburban are also general designations given by the US government agencies (often used for determining grants and tax incentives). Not all agencies use the exact same population break downs or terms (exam. some may use Metropolitan Areas). Furthermore, agencies who use Rural, Urban, and Suburban data, sometimes define the boundaries different than other agencies. Example: Urban: 3,000+ persons per square mile Suburban: 1,000 ‐ 3,000 persons per square mile Rural: less than 1,000 persons per square mile

Why is it important to keep the temperature and the amount of water the same when testing surface area?

The temperature and the amount of water need to be kept the same so that the only variable that changes is surface area. If you allow the temperature and/or the amount of water to change too, you will not know which variable is causing the changes that you observe.

Which type of energy transfer occurs when water is heated on a hot plate?

It is called conduction. The molecules vibrate and the energy transferred between molecules from a high temperature area to a low temperature area.

What is the term for the average temperature and precipitation for an area over a period of time?
