A hypothesis.
hypothesis or theory
The definition of an experiment is a procedure that is done in order to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or test a known fact. An experiment is often the testing of a scientific theory, although it can be applied to other fields as well, as long as it meets the criteria of the definition.
That depends on the result of the experiment. The experiment is a way to test a hypothesis, and it's completely fine if the experiment disproves the hypothesis. Ideally, though, the experiment will support the hypothesis.
In scientific method the "prediction" is the theory that the scientific test (the experiment) is being conducted to prove (or disprove).
A hypothesis.
hypothesis or theory
an experiment.
If a theory does not agree with the experiments designed to test it, than either the experiment is faulty and needs to be fixed or the theory needs to be reviewed and reconsidered..
A perfect example of how theories are tested ! Theory predicts the outcome of the experiment, and the purpose of the experiment is to test the theory. If the outcome of the experiment is appreciably different from the one predicted by the theory, (and if the experiment itself was valid), then the prediction is flawed, and the theory must be either tweaked or trashed.
Grab a burger! xD. Make observations and test them out and then create a theory

Theory gives direction to research. If you did not have any theory (or hypothesis) to test, you would be unlikely to be able to figure out what kind of experiment or observation you should be doing.
be scientists and test theory, experiment with various chemicals and practices in social environments
when there s proof to back it up with evidence or an experiment to test the hypothesis
