It's not that you don't have to, it's your not supposed to. Safety reasons is the main and only reason. You could knock a chemical off of a table, thus causing mayhem. or you could slip, fall, and crack your skull open on the tile floor, and believe me, brain matter and brain juice is hard to clean up off of a tile floor.
