A solute is something that dissolves into a solvent. The solvent is the substance present in the greatest amount (there is always more of it) and the solute is always present in a smaller amount. Together they form a solution.
The Concentration
Italians use vinegar and oil on their salads, typically applied separately, although Americans tend to like to mix the two together. They really do do not mix well, and tend to form a suspension, or sometimes an emulsion for a period of time before separating. You wouldn't really define one being a solvent and the other being a solute. Although, it a sense, the oil may tend to form droplets within the water/vinegar matrix so I'd inclined to label the water/vinegar as the solvent.
When solute dissolves in solvent it is being surrounded by the solvent's molecules. Because there are a finite number of molecules in a given amount of solvent, there is a limit to how much solute can fit in.
In science, dissolve means forming strong bonds between molecules of solute &solvent to form a complete solution which cannot be separated by simple processes like filtration.
If they are thoughly mixed together to form a solution, one will be the solvent and the other will be the solute. The solvent is whichever one is in a greater quantity.
A solute and a solvent together form a solution.
In this case, sugar is the solute and water is the solvent. Sugar is being dissolved in water to form a sugar solution to create the nectar for the hummingbird feeder.
When you dissolve a solute into a solvent until it is evenly mixed, the solute particles become uniformly dispersed throughout the solvent. The resulting mixture is called a homogeneous mixture or solution.
1. A solvent and a solute are both parts of a solution.2. The solvent is mostly in majority and, it dissolves a solute in itself to make a solution.
A solvent is something in which a solute will dissolve. Thus water is a solvent and salt is a solute. If one has a solution then the solvent contains the solute

When one material dissolves in another to form a solution, the molecules of the solute become dispersed and homogenously distributed within the solvent. This results in a uniform mixture with the solute particles interacting with the solvent molecules. The solute particles may remain in this dispersed state or they can undergo chemical reactions with the solvent, depending on the nature of the materials involved.
A solute is a substance that gets dissolved in a solvent. When a solute dissolves completely in a solvent and the mixture appears uniform, it forms a solution.
A substance that dissolves in liquid is called a solute. When mixed with a liquid solvent, such as water, the solute disperses evenly throughout the solvent to form a solution.
Solute plus solvent form a solution.
