Oswald was never found guilty because he was murdered before he was brought to trial. There was substantial evidence against him, but one never knows what a good lawyer can do with a jury.

Lee Harvey oswald was up stairs when Harvey entered the building followed later by the Dallas police,Harvey was arrested and escorted out of the front and and Lee the rear exit and hurried away after giving proof of his identy,Lee was later spotted out side a Mexican restaurant nearby in a red sports car. Both Oswalds are now dead and there bodies in the same grave in Rose Hill if iam wrong lets have some DNA Please understand the above is a joke, based on your calling Lee Harvey Oswald, "Harvey Lee Oswald". He is pretending there were two Oswalds running around (I am pretty sure Oswald's mother and brother Robert would have noticed another Oswald!). There is evidence of LHO taking a bus and a taxi, IIRC, but nothing about station wagons, or any proof that Ruby or Wallace did any such thing, or were in a position to. And when Oswald was exhumed, there was only one body found, of course. So to answer your real question with a real answer... he was arrested at the Texas Theater in Dallas.

Where did Lee Harvey Oswald hide?

When Oswald ran form the Texas School Book depository, he didn't hide. He was stopped on the street. About 45 minutes after the shooting at Dealey Plaza, Oswald was stopped by Dallas police officer J.D. Tippit for questioning. He shot and killed the officer at point blank range. He was seen by witnesses going in to a movie theater, where he was arrested. He was arrested in possession of a .38 caliber revolver (which ballistics later matched to the bullet that killed Officer Tippit). He was arrested for the murder of Officer Tippit. It was when he was taken to police headquarters, a group of employees of the Texas School Book Depository were there giving their statements as witnesses to the shooting in Dealey Plaza. They knew Oswald and pointed him out to police. Following up information from these witnesses, Oswald was formally charged with assassinating President Kennedy.

What gun did Harvey Oswald used to kill the president?

Lee Harvey Oswald used a 6.5 x 52 mm Italian Carcano M91/38 bolt-action rifle, serial number C2766. The rifle was equipped with a 4x Hollywood brand scope. The military surplus rifle and scope were sold through Klein's Sporting Goods Company by mail order. Alternate theories The Kennedy assassination is one of the most debated events of the 20th century. There are many alternate theories as to the exact circumstances of the assassination. Some hold that Oswald was not the real shooter, in which case he did not use any rifle. There is also some controversy as to which exact Carcano rifle was used since there is a 36" and a 40" version and Oswald may have owned both. Another alternate theory is that the actual rifle found in the book repository was a Mauser, but the Carcano was substituted to frame Oswald.

A few people claimed he was seen on the 6th floor a while before the shooting carrying what he allegedly said was "curtain rods" wrapped in a blanket. But a police officer who ran into the building immediately after the shooting, said he found and briefly spoke with Oswald in a lunch room several floors below. Oswald identified himself, and was drinking a soda.
