Mrs. Norris was not killed, just petrified. The creature that did it to her was a baslisk, which is a giant snake. When you look into the eyes if a basilisk, it kills you. But, Moaning Myrtle had flooded the bathroom, so there was water on the ground. Mrs. Norris only saw the basilisk's reflection, so she was only petrified. :-)

The students who were petrified only say the repletion of the basilisk or through the lens of a camera.

I saw a red-headed basilisk in Comeyegua, Honduras during the month of July. He was crossing a sidewalk and was about 20 feet away from me. We both stopped dead in our tracks and looked one another over. Evidently he was as scared as I was because he hightailed it back into the bushes! The ones i saw in Tortuguero, Costa Rica were large, but very flighty. I couldn't even get close enough for a decent picture!
It is unknown. It never mentions what she saw when she wore the locket. And she destroyed the Hufflepuff cup, but right away with the basilisk venom so she might have not see anything from that.
