If you are referring to real earthquakes (I noticed the question is posted in "Pokemon" and I don't know if there are special Pokemon earthquakes)...but anyway, real earthquakes happen frequently. Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada had a small/medium earthquake just 2 days ago (Feb. 05, 2010) that registered 3.2 on the Richter scale - just a few tenths of a point below the level that could have caused serious damage. Tremors of this type are fairly common around the world.
