First you have to understand Darin endured Rhuematic Fever twice when he was a kid. That kills the heart muscle and he wasnt expected to live past 16. He lived till 37. Had heart surgery in 1971 and bought a few extra years. In mid 1973 he went in for routine dential work. Patients with heart issues need to take anticoagulant medications before this, Darin, for whatever reason, did not. Darin caught an infection of his blood, attacking his heart. Its likely he also suffered a few mini-strokes. Finally, he went under the knife again in late December 1973. There was no more scar tissue to scrape away, the heart was damaged beyond repair, and he was closed up on the table, however he never regained conscienceness, and the plug was pulled. As i said, he was 37, won 2 Grammys, nominated for an Oscar, a massive library of music, played 4 instruments, did a load of movies and was a legend in nightclubs. lots to do with a bad heart.
