In the first book and film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (known as the Sorcerer's Stone in the USA), Harry is 11 years old for most of the story. He is however 10 at the beginning of the stories, turning 11 at the very end of chapter 3.
As the series progresses he grows older, aging by one year each book and each film, except for in the second film for Deathly Hallows where he is the same age as in the first Deathly Hallows film.
Harry turned eleven on the 31st July 1991. He celebrated his birthday in the fourth chapter of the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
