Hermione is a very intelectual person and when the series starts a very serious and rules-are-in-NOWAY-meant-to-be-broken! Sort of person however as the series goes on, she becomes more daring and her personality becomes clear. She is loyal, kind, studious, daring, brave, stubborn, accepting, proud, smart, not afraid to speak her mind, HATES MALFOY (AND THE DARK ARTS)generally honest aswell as a feminist.

Hermione's personality is complicated. When she first meets Harry and Ron she comes across as a know-it-all, which she is. However Hermione works so hard at school because she is very insecure and believes that knowledge is power and thinks that if she works hard enough she might be able to impess people in the magical world which she (no doubt) didn't do in the muggle world. However the magical world doesn't change people, they are still unaccepting of know-it-all's.

Hermione is also bossy because she believes in what she has been brought up to believe is acceptable and what is unacceptable and acts upon it.

Hermione is also very brave, loyal and good at giving advice.

She's bossy, uptight, straight-forward, skeptical, cunning, super-smart, passionate, thoughtful, quick-thinking, irritable, can get easily upset when it comes to Ron. She's willing, interested and clever. She's cautious, gets-easily annoyed, and sometimes talks without thinking. A definite goodie-goodie.

Her personality changes a bit depending on whether you're referring to her early in the series or later, but there are some key traits she maintains. She's fiercely loyal, quite a bookworm, a generally "good" child who nearly always follows the rules 100% and she tends to worry a lot. She does loosen up later on in the series about rule breaking and worrying, but she's still the loyal nerd of the trio.

JK Rowling described her as bossy, intelligent, loyal and a very logical thinker. Hope this helps!

J K Rowling wrote Hermione as a caricature of herself. Hermione is an exaggerated version of the young Jo.

The term for a character of this type is "self-insert".
