A fictional character created by the famous writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is a consulting detective/sleuth who solves cases simply with the power of observation and deduction. The reason people are drawn to this particular character is probably because he was the unlikely detective, a cocaine addicted man with an obsession for studying crime.

Sherlock Holmes was not a real life detective, only a very well described character in a book. Although, anyone of the humans on Planet Earth may very well become a real Sherlock Holmes if only we learned to use our full brain capacity.

The detective Sherlock Holmes is a fictitious character originally from the book 'A Study in Scarlet' by the man who created him and his sidekick, Dr. John H. Watson. There are far too many stories to describe, but the latest addition to the Sherlock Holmes collection has been the 2011 film, 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' starring Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson.
