First, there is an essay on Artemis Fowl by Prof. J. Argon (a fairy). Afterwards, there's a Prologue telling how Artemis Fowl Senior was kidnapped (by the Russian Mafiya.) Then, it goes the the real story.
His father's disappearance and mother's illness are meant to shape who Artemis is; it's not plot development so much as allowing character development initially. The fact that neither of his parents can supervise his activities also has a large effect on his activities, namely his involvement with the fairies as well as providing a main plot point for the second book where Artemis Senior is rescued.
the idea that a piece of fiction is better than another is entirely subjective. however Artemis fowl is much more creative than HP both with plot points and the role of traditional fantasy concepts such as magic and human kin (elves ect) but again just as subjective as the question to put it in one sentence hp isn't better than Artemis fowl
A summary of Artemis fowl would be... ingenious criminal mastermind with the brains of a genious and the imagination of a child- a dangerous combination. He also has a soft side which comes out in some of the later books
The Goddess Artemis is kidnapped and Annabeth is missing. So its up to Zoe, Thalia, Grover, Bianca and Percy to find and save them.
In the Robert Ludlum book "The Arctic Event," the March 5th event refers to a fictional catastrophic incident that takes place on March 5th in the Arctic region. The specifics of the event may vary depending on the plot of the book, but it typically involves a high-stakes situation that drives the narrative forward and sets the stage for the protagonist's actions and challenges. Ludlum's intricate storytelling and suspenseful writing style often make the March 5th event a pivotal moment in the novel.

little arty has no adult supervision (exept for butler and he's on the payroll) so he can do pretty much whatever he wants. also, it maks it so arty comes from a broken household. Artemis has the freedom to do what he wishes, and also as stated (not int he graphic novel, but epilogue of the actual novel itself) "it was only a matter of time before he was put into care", the reason of him using his wish to cure his mother, because social securities were watching him already.
To build tension
It is right after the Introduction.
Once the Exposition has come to an end, the Inciting Incident begins the forward movement of the plot.
Action that builds tension
Yes, an incident typically refers to a specific event or occurrence, rather than an entire plot. It can be a noteworthy happening that occurs within a larger storyline or context.
In the 5th Artemis Fowl book (The Lost Colony) Artemis Fowl is trying to save the demon planet from starting a cross-species war because an ancient time spell is stopping them killing the humans. And taking over planet earth. While doing this he meets a young girl, who is the same age as Artemis was when he discovered fairies do exist (12 years old) and she is trying to capture one for scientific research. Holly tries to rescue him and gets caught her self. When they are both freed, they have to go and save the demon planet. The ruler kills Holly, but they are going through time faster than on Earth, and Artemis saves her by shooting at Abbot (The leader who shot Holly) and having the bullet go back through time to stop him hitting her. They save the planet, but when they get back to Earth, Artemis has some of Holly's magic, one of her hazel eyes, and she has one of his blue ones. Also they have been gone for three years. And while he has been away, Artemis's parents have had twins boys! So Artemis is a big brother... and is allowed to vote!
