What happened in chapter ten of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone?

Harry receives a Nimbus 2000 from Professor McGonagall and late has his first Quidditch training session with Oliver Wood.

On Halloween, the Gryffindor first years are attending a Charms class where they were being taught Wingardium Leviosa. Ron and Hermione are paired together, something which greatly annoys Ron especially when she performs the spell correctly and he struggles. After class, Ron insults Hermione, which she overhears resulting in her hiding in the girls bathroom.

During the Halloween feast, Professor Quirrell enters the Great Hall and tells everybody there is a troll in the dungeon. All students are sent back to their houses, but Harry and Ron realise nobody knows where Hermione is. They go to the bathroom to warn her but find the troll inside. Together, they defeat the troll and save Hermione. The Professors arrive and Hermione lies to keep them out of trouble.

From that point on, the three became friends.

In chapter 2 of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone:

Harry Potter is almost 11 years old and living in a cupboard under the stairs in the Dursley house. He is tormented by the Dursleys' spoiled rotten son, Dudley.

The Dursley's (with Harry in tow) all visit the zoo for Dudley's birthday.

While looking at a boa constrictor, Harry realizes he can talk to it.

The glass front of the snake's tank vanishes and the snake slithers out onto the floor. Dudley claims that the snake attacked.

At home, Harry is punished for the snake incident, being sent to his cupboard without any food, though he feels he had nothing to do with what happened.

Chapter four of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stoneis titled "The Keeper of the Keys". Rubeus Hagrid arrives in the cabin, he gives Harry Potter his Hogwarts letter and tells him that he is a wizard. Harry initially doesn't believe him, but Hagrid convinces him otherwise.

Hagrid is shocked to discover that not only did Harry not know he was a wizard, but that the Dursleys had told him his parents died in a car crash when in fact they were killed by the wizard Lord Voldemort.
