The practice saved on paper, and the limited number of complete scripts prevented rival theater companies from stealing each others' scripts. Nowadays, "sides" mean the part of a script provided to actors for use in an audition. Typically sides are available in advance of the audition.
You cant just ring up a number. You either need to go to an open audition (they usually advertise these on newsround) or for a better chance you need to get yourself a agent! :D
That depends on how the auditions are set up. A lot of parts don't require this. They have open calls, and anyone can come in and audition. Other auditions are closed, and only people who have been invited to audition may try for the part. Sometimes there are limited open calls for certain parts, and they tell you some of the things they are looking for, because they are going for a certain age, body type, or look. Some auditions will accept a videotape of your audition, and then call you in personally if you make the furst cut.
audition what?..

Open auditions means that the auditions are still taking place or that people are still welcome to audition. But don't always trust internet ads when it comes to audition. There are A LOT of people that set up fake agencies online. Hope that helps.
this type of audition is called a cattle call.

No, you aren't guaranteed to get an audition. If you're successful then you have to perform for the producers who decide if you're good enough to audition for the judges.
if you mean when did she start filming or the audition? if you mean the audition then it would be in 2004 and the actual filming would be in 2005

I will assume you mean the London Symphony Orchestra. Call their main office, and inquire as to when they will have their next open audition (if they even have open auditions). They can give you any pertinent information. If you do get to audition for membership in the orchestra (and even getting to audition would be a terrific achievement) they will have a list of pieces, or perhaps certain orchestra passages, that they will want to hear you play - you'll usually know what those are beforehand. They will also have you do some sight-reading You won't know what those are beforehand. Good luck.
