She is the Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces.

She signs laws to bring them into being.

She appoints Prime Ministers.

She formally opens and closes parliament.

She formally makes the honours such as knighthoods.

She reads a speech for every parliament outlining what the government will do - but the politicians decide what goes into it.

She also carries out many public appointments and foreign visits.
