There are many disadvantages. First, there is an entire field of "journalism" that is founded on following you around and sharing information about you, and the worse it makes you look, the more likely it is to be printed. Second, you are expected to be perfect - perfect weight, perfect style, perfect diet, perfect everything. When you aren't, you are often ripped apart by the same people that were idolizing you just the day before. Third, there is no reasonably expectation of privacy for a celebrity any more, unless you live in a prison of your own making and don't ever leave. Fourth, if there is no real information or any "good" photos (as defined by the people who are sharing the gossip and speculation), there are several magazines that will quite happily make it up and share that as "information" about you. Fifth, it is very hard to know who is a true friend and who is pretending to be friends with you just because you are famous, or rich, or connected, or whatever.
Pro's:
You have many adoring fans
you get to do what you love (provided that you love singing that is)
you get to travel the world (if you are internationally famous)
you are popular
you get paid good money
you might get the meet other famous people and possibly sing / collaborate with them
Cons:
Paparazzi
you might be in loads of magazines and newspapers. not everything written about you will be true.
crazy fans
no privacy (or very little of it)
not everyone will like you and your music
there are MANY ups and MANY more downs to being a celebrity.
i personally, am not a celeb, but i understand many aspects of them.
UPS: free stuff, recognition, love, doing what you love for a living, etc.
DOWNS: no privacy, flashing lights, critisizm, rude comments, etc.
Good:Rich,famous friends,bodyguards,high salary
Bad:Always being stalked, humiliation is a big effect on your reputation, every mistake is remembered and never let go, and there is too much stress
PRO's: TONZ OF MONEY!!!! can get anybody u want, VIP treatment 24/7 CON's: alwayz in the media, alwayz rumored about, generally no privacy
