Nassau, Suffolk, Queens
Nassau County is on Long Island. Long Island is divided into four counties. Two of them -- Kings and Queens Counties -- are also boroughs of New York City (Brooklyn and Queens, respectively). The other two -- Nassau and Suffolk Counties -- are part of New York State, but not part of New York City. Brooklyn and Queens (Kings and Queens Counties) are on the western end of Long Island, and Suffolk County takes up the entire eastern half (it is by far the largest of the four counties). Nassau County is sandwiched between Brooklyn and Queens and Suffolk County.
Geographically speaking, yes. The actual geographic landmass that is Long Island consists of Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. Brooklyn and Queens, though, are also boroughs in New York City, which leads many people to think of "Long Island" as being just Nassau and Suffolk. If you say you're going to "Long Island", people generally assume you mean Nassau or Suffolk because Brooklyn and Queens are part of "the city". It's a little confusing if you're not from the area. Hope this helps.
