no megatron was stronger actually optimus sayed if he is not going to beat megatron he would sacrfice his spark(put the alspark in it) and then when he lost the battle between him and megatron he asked sam to put the alspark in it (means he lost the match) so the one who beat megatron was sam witwicky (by puting the alspark in his spark)
