There are 4 if you don't include "The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show" and "The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries" as seasons (which I wouldn't because they have different introductions). Season 1 containes episodes with the entire gang including Scrappy. Seasons 2, 3 and 4 were with Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy. There is no answer to that.The world is so diverse that it hide many mysteries.Even if we find answers to a lot of them we cannot really be sure how many mysteries are still there to be solved.

Shaggy was on the beach playing Frisbee by himself. He didn't have anyone to play with because everyone thought he was a nerd. Scooby ran up and caught the Frisbee in his mouth on the first throw. Scooby's owners were to self involved to care about him. Scooby ran away to the beach and that is how they met.
