Originally, Yassen was to follow Snakehead as the eighth book, and would be the final Alex Rider novel. However, Horowitz rethought this idea, following negative responses during school visits. Crocodile Tears was instead released as the eighth book, in November 2009. This will be followed by Yassen and then by the tenth and last book, which could be named Endurance Point making for a series of ten books. Anthony Horowitz has hinted that he may use the title "Endurance Point" for a future Alex Rider novel. However, on BBC Radio 4 on 20 March 2010, Anthony Horowitz announced that the next book would most likely be called Scorpia Rising.

Crocodile Tears is the forthcoming eighth novel in the highly successful Alex Rider series by British author Anthony Horowitz, about a young spy. The title was revealed, in code, to be Crocodile Tears. Originally, it was to be called Yassen and focus on the teenage years of Yassen Gregorovich, but Horowitz decided to put that off to the next book in the series.During an interview with Faheem Shaikh, Anthony Horowitz exclusively revealed an excerpt from the upcoming eighth book."Alex, do you really think you are the only one?" he said "We offer a way out, an escape, they chase us but we live. Help us save others who are bound by the same shackles, Alex. Join us." He plans to have the eighth book begin with Alex and Sabina on a skiing trip, then return to England, and finally moves to Africa, Kenya, where the second half of the novel will take place. The plot will involve GM crops and international aid. Horowitz has stated that a possible title could be Endurance Point and also stated that he would publish two more books after the eighth, for a total of ten books in the series. Now I believe the book is supposed to come out November 12, 2009.The book will come out in the UK on November 12, 2009.It will come out in the US on November 7, 2009.
The Alex Rider books, written by Anthony Horowitz, are really good, and have made Anthony Horowitz my favourite author. Following the death of his uncle, Ian, Alex Rider, 14, is forced to work for MI6 in a number of different missions, including having to protect all British children from a lethal virus, infiltrating a French boarding school, stopping a Russian madman setting off a nuclear bomb, and tons of other things. On 1 April 2011, there are 9 books, Stormbreaker, Point Blanc, Skeleton Key, Eagle Strike, Scorpia, Ark Angel, Snakehead, Crocodile Tears and Scorpia Rising. I recommend all Anthony Horowitz books to anyone between 8 and 15 years old.
