It lasted until their 5th year when Snape called Lily a mudblood after being humiliated by James Potter and Sirius Black immediately after the Defence Against The Dark Arts O.W.L Snape waited outside the Griffindor portrait hole to talk to Lily, and she criticised his 'evil' friends and their doings. It was from then on that they were no longer friends. It was around eight years long.

Why were snapes last words look at you?

For starters, Snape was not pleading with Harry to understand him or his motivations. Snape is a man who is hardly afraid of being hated or misunderstood. And he wasn't just giving Harry his marching orders for the showdown with Voldemort. He could have done that without showing Harry all of those embarrassing memories of Lily.Instead, Snape was finally acknowledging, for the first time to Harry at least, that Harry Potter was Lily's son too - not just James's son - and that he himself (Snape) bore a great deal of responsibility for destroying his childhood friendship with Lily. Snape is a proud man who chooses in his last moment to humble himself. With these memories, he acknowledges his own culpability, his own sin. He is finally revealing that he was not just an innocent victim of mean James Potter and the other Marauders. The key to this reading is that Snape freely gives Harry his worst school memory - the same memory that Harry stole a peak at after an Occlumency lesson. Harry's unearned look into the Pensieve had egregiously violated Snape's privacy, infuriating the Potions Master. But Snape seemingly forgives Harry here, not only giving him the complete memory, but revealing to Harry the ultimate consequences of young Snape's own actions.Harry already knows that Snape called his mother a mudblood when she rushed to defend him. But Harry had not previously seen Lily confront young Severus with the fact that he was now calling every muggle-born a mudblood. Yes, Harry probably suspected it, given Snape's Death Eater past, but Snape himselfchooses to reveal it to his least favorite pupil. And what does he reveal? That it was young Snape's corruption by the pure blood ideology - despite being a half-blood like Harry and Dumbledore - that destroyed a long friendship with Harry's mother.Yes, you can read "Look at me" as nothing more than the desire to gaze into Lily's eyes as he dies. Lots of Snape haters do. But given everything Snape shows Harry, it's more likely IMO that he's finally acknowledging, to Harry, that Harry is, as Dumbledore told him, his mother's son. He is not responsible for the sins of his father. He has his mother's eyes.

Why did Severus Snape kill Albus Dumbledore?

Dumbledore put a cursed ring on his hand which would have killed him had Snape not stopped it. Snape told Dumbledore he only had about a year left to live and Dumbledore knew that Voldemort was plotting his death but didn't want Draco Malfoy's soul to be damaged by this. He also knew that Voldemort would want the Elder wand and that Snape needed to keep convincing Voldemort he was on his side. So, Dumbledore told Snape to kill him which meant Voldemort trusted him, Draco kept his soul intact and Dumbledore died as the last true owner of the Elder wand - although because Draco disarmed him before he died that part of the plan didn't work. Also because Dumbledore says that he would rather be killed by Snape than one of the other Death-Eaters, such as Belatrix Lestrange who, as Dumbledore put it 'like to play with their food'. Snape also made an unbreakable vow to Narcissa (or Cissy) Malfoy, to help Draco in his deed set by 'The Dark Lord', and if it should seem Draco would fail, he commit the deed himself. (The deed being to kill Albus Dumbledore)

What is the story behind Severus Snape and Hogwarts?

Severus Snape was born to a pure-blood mother, Elieen Prince, and a muggle father, Tobias Snape. His parents fought constantly while he was growing up and Snape always tried to escape from it. He knew all about the wizarding world and was a wizard himself. He also began to notice Lily Evans, a girl who lived near him, had magical powers to. Eventually he worked up the courage to tell Lily what she was and though the first meeting didn't go as well the two met again and soon became friends. Snape was always in love with Lily. He told her all about Hogwarts and how they would be going. When they did go to Hogwarts he was upset when Lily wasn't placed in Slytherin and instead went to Gryffindor house where she met James Potter and Sirius Black who would spend the next seven years bullying Snape. His friendship with Lily began to deteriorate over the years as she didn't like the people that he was friends with due to their cruel nature and involvement with the Dark Arts. Snape was very jealous of James Potter who fancied Lily and over the years asked her out many times. Sirius Black almost killed Snape who was always curious about Remus Lupin. Sirius told Snape to look at the Whomping Willow and how he could enter it. James found out what Sirius has done and stopped Snape, saving his life, but not before Snape discovered what Remus was. Dumbledore swore him to secrecy. In his fifth year, Snape lost Lily when he called her a mudblood after she tried to help him. She refused to speak to him again and his involvement with the Death Eaters become deeper. Snape joined the Death Eaters shortly after leaving school and was no doubt heartbroken when Lily decided to marry James. In 1980, Snape overheard part of the prophecy and told Lord Voldemort about it. He soon regretted it after he learned that Voldemort intended to kill Lily as it was her son whom the prophecy spoke of. Snape went to Albus Dumbledore and told him what would happen, in return for their protection, Snape joined the Order of the Phoenix as a double agent. He told Voldemort that he was spying on the Order for the Death Eaters. In reality, he was spying on the Death Eaters for the Order and would only tell Voldemort certain information which Dumbledore wished him to know. After Lily's death, Snape promised to help protect Harry although he hated him and was reminded each day that Lily had picked James over him. Snape killed Dumbledore in 1996 on his orders, he then protected Hogwarts and was killed by Voldemort. He asked Harry to look into his eyes while he was dying so that the last thing he would see were Lily's eyes.

Why does Snape kills Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?

He uses the Killing Curse " Avada Kadavra" when Draco won't kill DumbledoreSnape had to. And for a good reason. So, recap. Harry and Dumbledore found the horcrux, but to do so, Dumbledore had to drink the poisonous liquid. The liquid was part of "The dark lord's" soul. And so, as long as the liquid was in Dumbledore, Voldemort was still living. So, to kill him, Snape had to kill Dumbledore.-PJ1120

Why is Severus snape appointed headmaster?

Minerva McGonagall was supposed to be headmistress in seventh year, but since Voldemort controlled the Ministry at that point, he wanted the school in his hands. He had thought then that Snape was loyal to him, and since Snape had worked there so long and killed Dumbledore, Voldemort put Snape in charge.

How do you go out with your best friends ex?

You don't. If you want to keep your friendship with your best friend then you should not date their ex. You will end up losing your best friend over a relationship that will most likely not even last long while you friendship can last a lifetime. SO don't screw up a friendship over a little relationship.

What do you do if you like the same guy as your friend but she does't know it?

Friendships often last longer than intimate relationships, so you have to decide what's more important to you - your friendship with this girl or a relationship with a guy that probably won't last as long as the friendship could. I would recommend that neither of you pursue this guy, and try finding boyfriends that aren't going to conflict with your friendship.

How long friendships last?

Friendship lasts for as long as you want, depending on how much you trust each other. If you trust your best friend very faintly, don't trust them with your deepest darkest secrets! You must stay loyal to each other and try not to backchat. REMEMBER: If you want a friend, you must be a friend!!!!
