Actually the game relates that He (Your starter Pokemon) can only see the future of something related to Time Gears, but, I don't think that's the Point as in the beginning of the game......... when you chase your first criminal, that is, Drowzee, you actually see the future when you touch Little Azurill's fallen Apple on the floor in front of the Kecleon Brothers shop. I don't think that mirage was related to any Time Gear in the area!
