Before taking the test running, check that the positive and negative directions of the motors are line with the demands, especially the two motors of the overhead crane traveling mechanism must rotate at the same direction.
Begin the test running while the overhead crane is under the safety and normal condition. At the same time, the control handle is at null position. Turn on the knife-type switch and push the starting button of SB1. Connect the circuit and make the overhead crane in the condition ready for running.
There are 3 steps for the test running:
1. No-load test:
The procedures and requirements are the following:
1)Make the hoist traveling with no load along the rail 3 times to check no track-slipping of the wheels obviously. The starting and braking conditions are normal; the limit switches act correctly; the buffer in the hoist can collide with the bumper in the bridge structure accurately.
2)Hoist with no load test: make the hoist with hook up and down 3 times to make sure that the limit switches of the lifting mechanism act correct and reliable.
3)Travel the hoist to the middle point of the span, then travel the crane moving along the rail twice at the lower speed to check the supporting legs and rails. Make the overhead crane traveling at the rated speed roundly 3 times to check the working conditions of the traveling mechanism of overhead crane, no track-slipping of the wheels while starting and braking, travel smoothly, limit switch acting correctly and buffering reliable.
2. Static Load Test Running:
The procedures and requirements are the following:
1)Travel the hoist to the end limit position of the main girder. Mark the center point of the main girder while the overhead crane is stable.
2)Travel the hoist to the center part of the main girder to lift the materials at the lowest speed until the rated lifting capacity gradually. Now make the material off 100mm from the ground and suspend 10 minutes. Then measure the down deflection of the center part of the main girder and ensure that it will not exceed 1/750 of the span if the overhead crane working class is A5. Do the same test 3 times and guarantee that there is no residual deformation after unloading at the third test. The interval of each test is not less than 10 minutes.
3)After the overhead crane meet the above-mentioned tests, do the test with 1.25 times than the rated lifting capacity. To reduce the influence because of the deformation, travel the overhead crane around the column while doing the static test.
3. Dynamic Load Test Running:
The procedures and requirements are the following:
1)Make the hoist with the rated lifting capacity loading up and loading down repeat and travel the hoist with the rated lifting capacity 3-5 times back and forth along its rail. Finally move the hoist to the center part of the main girder and make the crane travel 2-3 times back and forth at the rated speed along its rail, meanwhile do the repeat starting and braking function. In the whole process, all the brakes, limit switches and electrical control components should be reliable, correctly and flexible. No track-slipping for the wheels, normal vibration of the bridge structure, steady traveling and lifting mechanism, and no residual deformation after unloading.
2)After the crane meet the above-mentioned tests, do the test with 1.1 times than the rated lifting capacity.

Attaching a hoist trolly to an overhead crane is very difficult. The only way it can be attached is if you remove the crane head and then weld on the hoist trolley.
