The correct amount of Monsters, Spells, and Traps helps a lot. You should have around 17-20 monsters and 20-23 spell and trap cards. You also need to have a focus, as I learned from reading a strategy guide a few (like 5) years back. Focuses can be a specific type, attribute, or strategy, i.e. a direct damage deck or "one finishing blow" decks that try to special summon high-level monsters.
How do you know if your deck is well balanced?
Well first of all, a good deck, is a deck that moves fast, that you don't need to wait long for a card you need to come out. A good deck is one that you don't relly ok a combo of cards, all the cards in the deck most work, on there own special way, if by coincidence you find a combo, well perfect, but don't make a deck based on that combo, because after your opponent has learned your move, he will defenitly go against it.
A good deck should have 40 cards, if you want more perfect, but 40 is the best, 20 monsters, and 20 magic/traps, 10 magic, 10 traps or 7 magic 13 traps, however you do it, but that's balanced.
Now a days, many good cards are banned, so if your a person that likes to go to tournaments, or likes to play fair, make a deck with unbanned cards, and follow the rules, which you can find in the yugioh website, if you just play with friends, and are not interested in going to tournaments, well make a deck however you want.
And last but not least, to know if your deck is good, you got to go against different types of people, people with banned cards, people with unbanned, people with cheapy combos, and people that just cheat, if you are able to beat all this people, properly, I think you found your self a good and well balanced deck.
Tauror.
Although some Decks do have advantages over others, no Deck is completely unstoppable. Each Deck has specific weaknesses and disadvantages, usually in the form of counter-strategy cards. These cards are usually stored in the Side Deck in a tournament, so that a Player can change their Deck to suit their opponent.
alright here it is I have used this deck and never lost I'm the best in a school of over 1500 people and I beat those around me with this deck (this is updated from my old one and it is not a cyber dragon deck)
(fusion monsters)
Cimeratech over dragon x1 (this is the star card)
Cyber End Dragon x1
Cyber Twin Dragon X1
VWXYZ dragon catapult cannon x1
XYZ Dragon Cannon x1
VW tiger catapult x1
(ritual monsters) by the way ask your oponent if you can play by the speical rule set where ritual monsters do not go in the deck but the extra or fusion deck.
Black luster soldier x2
Paladin of white dragonx1
(monsters)
Cyber dragon x3 (I only own two but the deck works fine)
Gren Maju Da Eiza x1 (another very important card)
Marshmallon x2
Y dragon Head x1
Z metal tank x1
X head cannon x1
W wing catapultx1
V tiger jetx1
Blue eyes white dragon X1
DD suvivor x1
(the other 4 cards are almostt completely optional just any cards with good efects and high attack preferably machines here's what I put)
Cyber Gymnast x1
Goblin attack force x1
skilled dark magician x1
steam roid x1.
(okay so far this deck makes no sense but mayby the spell cards will enlighten you)
Future fusion x2
Dimensional fisure x3
ectoplasmer x2
pot of greed x3 (always a good choice)
black luster ritual x2
white dragon ritual x1
marshmallon glasses x1
scape goat x1
card trader x1
differant dimension capsule x1
megamorph x1
(and the traps)
scrap iron scare crow x3
ultimate offering x1
return from the differant dimension x2
(the strategy)
okay the old cyber dragon deck of mine had flaws you were waiting for just on card to be drawn to make a one strategy deck work so this deck has many which can be used even when another fails (though very unlikely to fail)
the key cards are
future fusion
gren maju da eiza
dimensional fisure
ectoplasmer
return from the differant dimension
and dimensional capsule to help you draw them
we want future fusion to summon chimeratech over dragon though in the deck his attack is best at 4000 while in the old one was 8000 this is good too.
using future fusion you can rumage through your entire deck for cards listed on a fusion monster and chimeretech is made of one cyber dragon and any number of machines his attack and defence is the number of cards used to fuse him x800 and he can attack as many times = to the monsters used to make him so 5 cards 4000 attack points 5 attacks your oponent is dead meat.
The other strategy is removing from play we want a dimensiomal fisure to send all monsters that are sent to the grave yard to be removed from play instead now of course it takes a while to do this and our deck is not strong unles it's tactic has been folowed through so we can't battle much we'll end up dieing because they magic clinders so instead we speed it up and force monsters to die with ecto plasmer the when the pile builds up we have gren maju da eizza who's attack is the number of removed from play card x400 you oponent is once again hopefully dead should your oponent destroy gren maju da eiza as a last resort use return from the differant dimension to bring back as many of the removed from play monsters that you want for one turn and the good thing is it should'nt effect the cyber dragon tactic)
now as I said before without other stuff this deck is weak so there are sub courses that work.
the letter machines w wing catapult v tiger jet so on and so forth can combine really easily without fusion and without using the fusion cards just yet by acting like equip card to prevent each-other from dieing and to strengthen each other a nice way to hold up or even fight while you obtain the right cards.
then one of my favorates is marsh mallon he can hold up really well especially against tactical oponents like myself however basic oponents who use cards with high attack and nothing but spells like magic cylinder lightning vortex and monster reborn be ware.
there is infinate defence and ofence to hold you up or take your oponent down while you wait black luster soldier, blue eyes when summoned by paladin of white dragon many combos and more I'm bored I've spent too long writing this hope you like the deck good bye unbeatable

A good and cheap Yu-Gi-Oh deck that you can make for under 70 bucks is the Samurai deck.
The deck that comes with the Yugioh gods and blue eyes white dragon in the Legendary Collection Collectors set. This set brought together some of the most popular cards from early in the Yugioh series.
You are to go to deck press l3 then press r3 3 times!
Whats your deck? I like to make my deck with if you're going for 40 cards 20 monsters(usually 11 level 4 and 9 tribute summons) and then 20 spells/traps I'll look at your deck if you tell me what they are
There is no such thing as an unbeatable deck. However, some decks are better than others. You just have to keep improving. Good luck

Well what is your yugioh deck?
no, but there is a yugo ap for the i phone where YOU make your own deck, or you can go to the deck doctor and you give him your deck and he will fix it up for you, or if you have a friend that is an absolute pro like me :), you can ask of him to help you with your deck.
Go to yugioh-card.com to learn the rules. You can also get a rulebook in each structure deck and a "beginner's guide" in each starter deck.
anybody play yugioh in the metagame?
That would make a bad deck, considering all that would require too many Tributes
It depends on what type of starter deck e.g. Yugioh 5ds, Yugioh GX, Yugioh!
Well, my favorite ways are:1) A Crystal Beast deck; just add Magna-Slash and Gravi-Crush Dragons and a Hamon.2) A Volcanic Deck; this deck is amazing. It's just very hard to get Blaze Accelerator and Volcanic Doomfire when you need them...3) A Rose deck; only one word for it: WOW. Black Rose Dragon is almost unbeatable. Just go on "yugioh-cards.net" and search "Crossroads of Chaos" for the cards to it.4) And last but not least, Drumroooooollllllllllllll Please... A Lightsworn Deck; this deck is purely unbeatable. I mean it. You can not beat a Lightsworn deck. The only problem is that Judgment Dragon, the Lightsworn Paralel to the Crystal Beast's Rainbow Dragon, is 200 bucks. But that's just a minor problem, isn't it?
