to defeat the slobber you'll need the anvils and all the thinner you can get. when he sucks you in hit him with an anvil then thinner. Also i found it easier that if you have enough guardians (about three) you can use them to defeat him. I used the tints and it worked so i assume that the terps would work as well.
there are two way to defeat the slobber you can either thin him out or paint him it take awhile both ways so it is best to make sure you have at least two guardians it is also helpful to paint him because his strengh is good
