Bruce Lee was born in the 20th century, long after Taekwando was created.

Lee is credited with the formation of the Jeet Kun Do school of Martial Arts, or "Way of the Intercepting Fist." Lee practiced this form extraordinarily well but, as is the case in a few forms, the teacher seems to have had difficulty in passing on the lesson, and Jeet Kun Do is a difficult form to master, and has drawn a small number of practitioners. It's a non-patterned form and almost more of a philosophy, often eschewing classical techniques. In Lee's own words, "you either get it or you don't."

Jeet Kune Do, a martial art. When translated it means Way of the Intercepting Fist. It consists of a theory, rather than a set style, which states that we must all study individual martial arts and various fighting styles, eg Wrestling, boxing, kickboxing, Taekwondo, kung fu, karate, and incorporate the essentials, not necessarily everything, just what works for you, from each of these styles. Then you add the final element of your experience and whatever you consider to be your natural skills, eg speed, strength, flexibility, body mass, and you are well on your way to mastering Bruce Lee's incredible concept, Jeet Kune Do.
