Im pretty sure they eat raw Kale :)
The vegetable Kale (as Sea Kale) was known as a food by our ancient "Hunter Gatherer" ancestors.
From what I have found on the Internet, Chinese kale seems to contain goitrogens. See pp. 148 and 149 of this scientific journal article by a group of Chinese researchers: http://www.academicjournals.org/AJB/PDF/pdf2008/18Jan/You%20et%20al.pdf. This article seems to indicate that in general the benefits of Chinese kale are greater than the disadvantages. But read the article carefully to distinguish between the seeds and the leaves of the plant - the chemical concentrations are very different. beamup2

yes, but i would stick to dog food, with a small portion of kale.
It's both. Answer Kale is a vegetable of the cabbage family known in Scotland as hungry gap because of it's use in mid winter.
For green kale, about 8 to 10 leaves is considered a pound. The amount of leaves would depend on the species of kale. Lacinato kale (dinosaur kale), for example, is about 12 to 16 leaves per pound, because the leaves are smaller.
To convert grams to ounces, you can use the conversion factor: 1 ounce = 28.35 grams. So, to convert kale from grams to ounces, you would divide the number of grams by 28.35. For example, if you have 100 grams of kale, you would divide 100 by 28.35 to get approximately 3.53 ounces of kale.
