Lunch periods should be longer because if you have longer to eat, it will cause you to eat slower. Eating slower causes better digestion, less heart burn, and a lower chance of stomach trouble once the body grows older. Eating slower also gives the metabolism a chance to react. By cramming food in, people can also become obese. Also, once people become used to eating fast it also becomes a really bad habit that can continue into adult hood if unchecked. Eating fast is also WAY unattractive!

That's why it's extremely important to have a longer lunch period.

In France Kids have up to 2 hours lunch time and they have 2 break times during their school day. in England primary school children have around 1 hour and secondary school children have as little as 45 minutes. So i think that yes Kids should have longer lunch, not just because french children do but because it gives them time to catch up with friend so they are not chatting in lessons instead, it gives them time to eat a decent meal and it would make them more look forward to going to school.

No. The state tells the schools how many minutes, hours, days, and weeks in the school day, month and year. If schools don't meet this the school has to make up the lost time or days. They are very picky and even count the time between classes, and the number of seconds in the school day. So, with a longer lunch students would have to stay later in the day. A longer lunch period would also result in greater problems with staffing and some students would soon find themselves in trouble when they have nothing to do.
