Yes, and No. "Never heard of "Grossner's" but "Gossner's" is involved with the "Cache Valley Cheese Factory". My understanding is that the man (Gossner) who started "Cache Valley Cheese" sold the Brand name and factory to a large corporation which moved part of the production quite a ways South, maybe out of "Cache Valley". The current owner of "Cache Valley" is DFA (Dairy Farmers of America) which apparently started out with and is still the parent company of well known Borden. See www.dfamilk.com. Gossner later started a new cheese plant in Logan, UT. Check out www.Gossner.com and click on the history tab for the history of the man. It is an interesting story. I drove to "Cache Valley" looking for the cheese that I had become addicted to and was no longer able to get in Austin, TX area. I found the plant, and at the feed store across the street from where the old retail outlet had burned down, found a local to steer me to the Gossner plant. I hauled away a bunch of cheese on that trip, and after returning home to Texas have had it shipped from Logan. Great cheese and even with shipping, a lot cheaper than locally available cheese and better as well. Hope this answers the question.

We don't know the first Mormon to ever set foot in Cache Valley, but the first Mormon to settle in the Cache Valley was William Gardner in 1852. Four years later, a group of settlers lead by Peter Maughan arrived and began to form the communities that exist there today.
