Pumpkins, ghosts and witches are just a few of the things you think of when Halloween comes around. But how do you decorate your house for Halloween if you have children who want to help? These are a few ways to get kids involved in the spooky spirit of Halloween dcor.PumpkinsEveryone loves to get a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch. Find a local patch and take the family to pick one large pumpkin, or several small pumpkins. Be sure to get ones that do not have any bad spots on them and that are fairly rounded. When you get the pumpkin home, place newspapers on a table inside, or on the ground outside. Let the kids dig out all of the pumpkin guts. After the pumpkins are clean, help your children draw faces on the pumpkins, and then cut the faces out. While the pumpkins are drying, children can draw pumpkins on construction paper.GhostsMost children are afraid of ghosts, so you will need to make ones that are nor scary. Find some newspaper and white trash bags to construct the ghosts to hang in trees or on the porch. Stuff newspaper in the bottom half of the trash bag and tie a string under the paper. Draw eyes and a mouth on the ghost and hang him on display.WitchesWhen you make a witch, plan on making a good witch unless your children like the black capes and green faces. If you want to make a large witch to hang in a tree or on your front door as Halloween dcor, use a black trash bag and attach a broom to the side. You can make the broom out of construction paper. Paint a face on the bag that looks like a witch.Other Halloween dcor can include hay bales and scarecrows that you can sit around a tree, or apples sitting in a tub of water.
