The fish will eventually die. Bacteria will be produced from the uneaten food. Bacteria/disease will spread in the tank from excess elimination from fish. The bacteria and diseases will happily cling onto fish and kill them. Water changes, a good clean filter and less food will combat this problem.

(I am assuming that you have fish in the tank.) Ultimately, you will overfeed your fish. He/She might get a little bit fat or if they get full, they just wont eat the food! If you put too much food in the tank you should clean it out. The food will just sit at the bottom of the tank until it is cleaned out.

Fish are obsessive-compulsive eaters, so they will eat whatever you feed them. Consider over-watering a plant. It's the same basic idea.
