No, you cannot just get diabetes form eating too much candy. There are two types of diabetes: Type 1 also known as juvenile diabetes is when the pancreas produces no insulin. Type 2 is usually seen in older adults and people who are overweight. In type 2 the pancreas makes insulin, it is just not enough or the body does not react to it anymore. You can become temporarily hyperglycemic (too much sugar in the blood) from eating too much candy but this will eventually go away and should have no effect on your pancreas.
