The walrus has a diverse diet, feeding on numerous small marine organisms like shrimp, crabs, tube worms, soft corals, tunicates, sea cucumbers, mollusks etc. Their favorite prey are the "Benthic Bivalce Mollusks" in other words Clams. They forage for prey along the sea bottom and identify them using their sensitive whiskers. They are opportunistic and can evey prey on smaller seals when they find one.
