Diferent tastes, Oil burns your food at a higher temperature. The olive oil has its own vegetable-oily taste when you cook with it, but if you dont use too much it doesnt leave much of a taste. For the butter, I just use that for grilled cheese Sandwiches, and whatever sandwich im making. In conclusion... If you want buttery taste, take butter, If you want a cleaner finish (since oil is easier to work with) use olive oil.
Typically butter is considered worse due to it's higher saturated fat and cholesterol content. However butter is a source of calcium and vitamin D, which most oils will not contain. Both butter and oil have a similar total fat content (gram for gram). Some oils contain high levels of vitamin E, along with some other beneficial micronutrients which generally do not occur in butter.
If you use the same amounts in a recipe, oil is going to make it heavier. Butter has milk solids and water in it that would not add to the heaviness that much. Oil is all oil.
Whipped cream is worse because it has trans fat in it (0.2 trans fat for 2 teaspons!! THATS ALOT) it has more stuff in it to that's bad for your body to.
No, whipped cream is heavy cream and sugar that is whipped at high speed until the cream is stiff. If it were whipped further the cream would turn into butter. Ice cream is cream, milk, sugar and flavorings that are churned slowly for up to an hour and then frozen.
The whipping process fills it with tiny air bubbles and it becomes whipped cream. Over-whipping causes the fat molecules to clump together and it turns into butter.
