The Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) is a species that lives in the eastern and northern parts of Madagascar. This means it requires more humidity than other species.
There are numerous other colour phases, and patterns differ between and within regions. Female Panther Chameleons generally remain tan and brown no matter what region they are from, but there are slight differences in patterns and colors among the different colour phases.
In captivity they eat crickets, tomato and tobaco horned worms (and the moths they produce), meal worms, super worms, wax worms, wax moths, non infesting roaches are all good items to feed. The panther chameleon is the carnivore in a food web that includes insects that effect the leaves and fruit of the trees they live in. The chameleon gets the vitamin A they need from the insects that eat the leafy green plants.

hello? anyone there?
The Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) was named by a French biologist in 1829. They are a north Madagascar species commonly bred in captivity for the pet trade. 'Furcifer' is latin for something like split (meaning the shape of the toes). 'Pardalis' means panther (because of the chameleon's spotted pattern).
Panther chameleons are probably the most color vibrant breed of chameleon. They change almost every color.
Panther chameleons have a very low temperament so they are easy to handle and don't mind it as much as other chameleons. They can also hiss when angry or upset which is pretty cool. Hope this helps :]
