Pudding week, as far as I know, is the where the workers put in as much overtime as possible in at work prior to breaking up for a holiday, so as to boost their earnings. It's the week they get paid for on the Friday that they finish for their holidays.
Although why it's actually called 'pudding week' is a complete mystery to me.
Pudding week. was when you worked all the hours you could so you could have a pudding with you main meal while you was on holiday. me father used to do as many as eighty hours. They were happy days, and i remember them well. I can recall one xmas I got a giant mechano set Ikept it for years and spent many a happy hour costructing different models with it from John Morler
